Abstract:Household nursery is a new form of commercial nursery growing with th e market economy. To understand their food sanitation status, 23 household nurse ries in Hebi, a middle-sized city in Henan Province, were investigated. The majo r problems included illegal operation without hygiene or health licenses or elig ible certificate of training on food hygiene, incomplete basic facility for food sanitation and disordered management, etc. The measures that should be taken ar e: to establish criteria for hygiene management, and license granting, to intens ify routine monitor and to provide education on food safety knowledge for the practitioners of household nurseries.
