Objective To assess the quality and safety of drinking water in Guangyuan area of Sichuan province after "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake.Method 37 indexes of drinking water in Guangyuan area were monitored with rapid detection and conventional laboratory methods.The status of quality and safety were comprehensively analyzed.Results The qualified rate was 64.86%.The main unqualified reasons were that the colony count and total coliform group exceeded the standards,but there were no abnormal changes on sensory examination and chemical indexes.Conclusion The significant chemical and pathogens contamination of quality of drinking water were not found in Guangyuan area after "5.12" earthquake.
