Objective To inspect the condition of pollution of infant formula milk powder by E. sakazakii in a city market, and make contribution to the setting of the limit standard of E. sakazakii in formula milk powder for Chinese infants and to better management of the government.Methods Routine physiological and biochemical methods and real time PCR were used.Results Two strains of E. sakazakii were detected from the milk powder samples.Conclusion Though the situation of pollution of E. sakazakii in infant formula milk powder in a city market is not serious, it is better to feed infants with sterilized liquid milk.
