Abstract:Food toxicological evaluation system in China was established in the 1950's and developed from the 1970's.It has played a positive role and got big development in many aspects such as formulating criteria for pesticide residues in foods,safety assessment of food irradiation,application of food additives,food contamination by both mycotoxins and permanent organic pollutions mechanism of tea preventing cancer,safety and functional assessment of health foods.Too much work in food toxicological evaluation in China need to be conducted in order to meet the requirement of both national and international trade.
