This article summarizes and analyzes the specific trade concerns related to food safety at the SPS committees during 1995-2010, and discusses the numbers, subjects, solutions and member countries who raised the concerns. Specific trade concerns are scientific based issue involving extensive areas, pesticide residues has become the main focus of competition, and the reasons of these characteristics are analyzed. Specific trade concerns have become a platform for the members to express the concerns and resolve trade disputes, and its characteristics should be fully understood in order to provide reference for Chinese SPS practices.
