The occurring actuality of freshwater eutrophication and water bloom and the mean species and characters of cyanobacterial toxins were briefly reviewed in this paper. The potential risks of cyanobacterial toxins on food safety were specially focused. The reference standards for allowable content of cyanobacterial toxins in food supplement should be established.
