    • Study on the test methods for the health food assessment on anti-fatigue effects.

      1997(4).

      Abstract (2184) HTML (0) PDF 2.01 M (4849) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The suit experimental methods for the assessment of function food were established, including: swimming experiment, live glycogen, serum urea nitrogen(SUN) and blood lactate concentration test. All above methods have been verified repeatedly to be stabile, reliable and the actual effects of function foods can be examined. It is easy to operate and the special instruments are not needed except the instrument for lactate determination. • The comparation of anti-fatigue test of human and weight carrying swimming experiment of mice on Ciwujia (Acanthopanax senticosus)preparation.

      1997(4).

      Abstract (1312) HTML (0) PDF 1.77 M (2113) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:For study of the anti-fatigue effect of Ciwujia preparation, sixteen male adults' exercise tolerance were tested under increasing progressively sports, and the swimming experiment of mice had been done before. The results indicated intaking Ciwujia preparation could enhance work capacity of under-anaerobic threshold, the respiratory quotient decrease to 0.86 from 0.99 and the energy supplying from fat increase 43 percent. The detecting of continued constant carrying exercises under 450 kg.m/min of twenty university students showed that the energy supplying from fat during exercises increased 10.2 percent, the heart rate decreased 10.3 percent and the shock input of oxygen increased 9.8 percent after intaking Ciwujia preparation for a week while the energy supplying from fat increased 6.8 percent intaking the preparation only once. It proved the continous intaking better effect. The results of lactic acid, heart rate, anaerobic threshold pointed out that the preparation have anti-fatigue effect on human through increasing the capacity of oxygen input, saving muscle glycogen under either increasing progressively exercises or continuous constant carrying ones. • Sleep-improvement effects of Melatonin on mice.

      1997(4).

      Abstract (2235) HTML (0) PDF 679.64 K (2297) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Examination of sleep-inducing effect of Melatonin, through direct sleep-inducing test and the test of sleep-inducing in coordination with pentobarbitone in mice revealed that, oral low doses of Melatonin (0.083,0.5,3.0mg/kg BW) potentiated pentobarbitone-inducing sleep, and that higher dose (800mg/kg BW) had direct sleep-inducing effect, the sleep time is 70.8 minutes, sleep latency is 35.7 minutes. Author's address Zhou Yuhong, Institute of Food Safety Control and Inspection, the Ministry of Public Health of PRC, Beijing 100021, PRC.

    • Method for analysis of Yanwo(edible bird's nest) in beverages.

      1997(4).

      Abstract (1184) HTML (0) PDF 1.11 M (2129) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:or detection of Yanwo in health beverages, the solid in the samples were analysed and appraised by synthesizing the results of hydrochloric-acid-hydrolytic-reaction, foam test, biological colouring, analysis of amino acids and spectrophotometry. The selective examination of 28 copies of Yanwo beverages bottled, saled in Beijing in 1995, proved the methods to be of the high specificity and accuracy. Amino acids analysis and spectrophotometry were used as quantitative methods and the concentration limit is 0.1mg/100g. Author's address Jia Lei, Beijing Institute of Imported Food Safety Control and Inspection,, Beijing 100013, PRC.

    • Present situation of enterprise standards of health food.

      1997(4).

      Abstract (974) HTML (0) PDF 758.75 K (2087) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:To carry out Management Method of Health Food, make the enterprise standards of health food more scientific, technological and advanced, and develop the health food, 169 copies of enterprise standard were analysed. the measures of improving quality of the standards were raised.
